100 Million Learners
Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University launched the Francis and Dionne Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative. It is one of the boldest and most ambitious global education initiatives in the history of higher education.
The objective of the Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative is to equip learners worldwide with the necessary knowledge and skills for entrepreneurial success through a digital platform. The program will be accessible to learners across the globe in 40 different languages at absolutely no cost. Around 70% of the 100 million learners the program intends to reach will be women and young women. The program offers three different pathways for learners, depending on their educational level.
1. Foundational Program: Content for learners with any level of education. It consists of 19 modules covering
global entrepreneurship, digital, innovation skills, strategic planning, financial analysis and management,
marketing, human resources, ethics, funding and access to capital, scaling for growth, and more.
2. Intermediate Program: Content at the high school or undergraduate education level. Five courses cover:
global management, accounting, marketing, big data, and entrepreneurship. Each course is 135 hours of
training per topic.
3. Advanced Program: Content at the graduate education level. Courses include leadership, entrepreneurship
and sustainable business, data analytics, digital marketing, and global accounting. Each course is 135 hours of
training per topic,
Learners can take any or all these programs. Courses are on demand, self-paced, and there are no prerequisites. At completion of each program, learners may obtain a certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation. Learners that earn a B or better at the intermediate and advanced level become eligible to apply for 15 transferrable credits that they can use for a degree program. This initiative presents a unique and unparalleled opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals.
